DETAILS FOR SCHEDULING A PRIVVATE CPACHING SEESION, or ENROLLING IN AN ADVERTISED COURSE WITH LESLIE

Demo and Courses length:  1 - 4 days.

Course Size: 4 riders / handlers per day max. Private instruction only.  Auditors, and other students are welcome to  attend.  All classes are filmed.

Arena use fees are split equally by the participants. This fee, and all other stall fees, pull-in day-fees, etc. must be paid directly to the facility owner/manager before the first lesson.

Prior to participation, all riders, handlers, trainers are required to complete 4-6 hours of private online coaching and video review with Leslie. It is best to begin this part of the course 8 weeks before the scheduled event.

Can event auditors register for a private lesson, or hire Leslie for horse training, consultations and evaluations?  Yes.

Usually there is time for 1-4  hours of coaching in the days immediately before and/or directly after the event; call or write to inquire, and present your details.

Before booking a spot for yourself in a scheduled class or course with Leslie, participants must commit to receieve 1-4 hours of private online coaching and video review.

If the committment to coaching has been established, a current student is welcome to enroll in the course.

Limit four horse & rider per course.

If you want to retain Leslie for a one-time evaluation, she is available to consult with you, or with someone on your horse-care team on your behalf (equine physio-therapist, veterinarian, farrier, saddle fitter, trainer, equine chiropractor or denstist); in this case the 4-hour online coaching requirement is waived.

Required study materials and equipment: Both left-tied and right-tied halters are standard equipment at Leslie's training and coaching sessions.

Halters must fit.

WHAT DOES 'MUST FIT" mean?

That means the length of rope between the nose knots and the knots that secure the crown piece must be long enough to ensure that the throat-latch sections of the halter fits securely behind the back of the jaws, and can be expected to remain in place. When the halter is securely tied onto the head, the nose knots should not be pressing tightly into the face, or cheek bones.

If you do not have a right-tied halter, and do not wish to purchase one, it is fine to borrow one. Instructions for tying your own halter  are posted in many places on the internet.

The right equipment is important for anyone enrolled in:

-- a private coaching session

-- as a clinic participant

-- when taking private groundwork lessons with Leslie.

ARE HELMETS REQUIRED? Yes, they are.

ARE BREAK-AWAY SAFETY STIRRUPS on English and Western Saddles Required? Yes.

WHAT IF SOMEONE WANTS TO RIDE BAREBACK, or on a SADDLE PAD?

THE SAME REGISTRATION and QUALIFYING PROCEDURES APPLY (with the notable exception that the safety stirrup requirement is waived.)

CAN I START MY COLT AT A THREE-DAY CLINIC WITH LESLIE?  If it is a colt-starting clinic, Yes.

Otherwise, if you have a young horse (1-3 years of age) that can be haltered, lead and tied up, talk with Leslie about the specific concerns, or challenges, you currently experience in connection with this horse. If she can help you and space is still available, she will confirm your request for a session. In this case, the other requirements are waived.

Considerations while attending the course.  Please, no filming at any time; and no loose dogs. Please set all cell phones to vibrate; receive calls elsewhere on the premises or during the breaks.

Many thanks!
