Leslie Desmond, co-author of the book, and producer of the 10-CD audio book, "Horse Handling and Riding Through Feel" will coach each horse and rider team in the horse handling and riding skills which are listed below.

90 MINUTE PRIVATE, INTENSIVE COURSE FOR INDIVIDUAL RIDERS
Welcome to this superb and rare opportunity to continue your study of feel & release with Leslie's supervision. She will guide your development of the in the use of techniques she uses to obtain soft, willing responses from your horse. Leslie will assist you in the development of horse-handling skills on the ground and from the saddle, mounted equitation. She will evaluate and assist you, as needed in your decision-making in the moment process.
NOTE: Participation with a sound horse is a requirement of this event.
What will be covered? The riders can choose -- Mounted work, ground work, or a bit of both. Leslie will help you learn to read what your horse is really saying to you, using its own language. There are exquisitely gentle, unique moments that most people miss. Leslie doesn't, and she will share with you the ways she has learned to be more observant and, over the years, increase the accuracy of her "read" on a particular horse's mental and physical state.
What exercises will you work on? You can think over and choose from the following basic maneuvers, or suggest another preference.
1.) Leading up Freely
2.) Collection. How does someone get their horse to effortlessly Raise and lower the head and neck and achieve lateral and longitudinal flexion at the poll? She will explain and demonstrate this so you can improve your understanding of feel and release as it pertains to genuine colleciton.
3.) Elevation of and access to the shoulders, bi-lateral access to the ribs , loin, croup and longitudinal access to Hindquarters from the saddle and the ground....these pieces are often missing from the rider's tool box, and are essential to include in a thorough and well-balanced exercise and conditioning program.
4.) Exercises to achieve balance and improve straightness in the various gaits, with & without reins / Foundation pieces REAL collection made clear. (Is your horse soft and willing in the bridle, responsive the the movement of the reins on his neck, and flexible throughout his whole body at the walk, trot and canter?)
5.) raise and lower horse's head, with & without reins
6.) Upward and downward transitions on the lunger and under saddle
7.) Establishing / perfecting turns and transitions in your foundation: serpentines and Figure 8s
8.) leads and lead changes
9.) handling the hooves from both sides of the horse / ask for the feet, and receive each one!
10.) trailer loading -- lead the horse in / send your horse in. Depending on the horse and the situation, either way could be the best choice.
CLASS SCHEDULE:
There will be a 2 hour demonstration on Friday, May 15th from 4 - 7 PM.
Four 90-minute private classes are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 16 & 17, as follows.
In these private sessions, which are all open to the public for auditing, Leslie will focus on the needs and progress of Strong-Beginners as well as Intermediate / please note: Advanced riders and trainers are welcome for private classes, it does not matter if you have goals to show or take your clients horses to shows. Interest in learning feel and release and a simple love of horses is all you need to qualify for this rare chance to work privately with Leslie in Germany.
After confirming your rider position with Marie, please read and complete your questionnaire with great care. Leslie gives a lot of thought to your comments, and from these she is able to help you in the best possible way by designing the lesson package that is custom-built for YOU.
She will offer direction and support of your goals in the broader context of the planned course work, and taking into account individual histories, current situations (Known limits and strengths of horse and rider, etc.).

PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
Please reserve your lessons space by February 29th. The rider eposit of 250 € paid through PayPal below is the best way to accomplish this. The balance of 250 € is due on May 14. Riders must have all the forms and payments complete before the class.

House rules! As before, please keep dogs at home. Photographers must speak with Leslie before taking any pictures. No phones cameras, please. Remember to bring PLENTY of water, a chair and sunscreen. Bring your own lunch, of course, if you prefer.
Reminders that riders are required to audit the entire clinic....audit fees for riders are included in private lesson payment for that day. Helmets are required on all heads! and All English saddles MUST be equipped with safety stirrups.
This year, 16 and under and under welcome at no charge. Auditors 17 - 21 will be charged a daily fee of 40€. Double-day rate is offered to youth at 30% off on a two-days prepaid auditirs pass for 60€.
Leslie will take questions from students only during the classes! Please respect the needs of riders' who are counting on Leslie's undivided attention this year! She is happy to answer audience questions at the breaks, and before and after the classes.
