LEARN HOW TO LIGHTEN UP YOUR HEAVY HORSE

Find out what Bill Dorrance showed Leslie to do to get around this impasse.  "Pressure," said Bill, "is what we are trying to stay away from."

When she apprenticed under himat the end of his life, he was still riding and roping, and coaching his students at clinics in the most effectiveways he knew to manage even difficult horses using Feel and Release.

Many of Leslie’s students are shifting their focus from

endless corrections, and the micro-managing of eachstep and maneuver, to the experience of moving freely forward together as a willing, trusting and feel-based team.

Join the fun, bring your horse, and learn a lot that can serve you both well, starting the very next day!  Or, come and have a look.

Auditors can learn a lot by watching Leslie help her students

get started on the basics of feel and release.

This approach uses the horse's language and instincts of curiosity, the willingness to get along, sself-preservation and a flight response to bring about the desired improvements you want and need for a safe and reliable connection on the ground and under saddle.

Leslie will demonstrate how to release the forehand onhorses by re-educating the neck. You will learn to recognize the effects of excessive hindquarter disengagement, and to adjust your posture to support an effective line of sight for each exercise or maneuver. Many riders and pros do not prioritize the development of the leg position needed excellent hands. It is the leg position and an accurate line of sight that enables good riders to control the horse perfectly through small adjustments made in the position of the arms and shoulders.

Discipline, passion and patience are needed for this. Leslie will show riders and auditors how to re-school horses whose bodies havereduced functionality from excessive hindquarters disengagement.  While it is important to be able to raise and lower the pelvis, and shift the hips in both directions, the common practice of excessive drilling of this exercise quite evidently interferes with a horse's confidence and sets a handler or trainer up for routines that not only discourage experimentation but can compromise the hip and SI joint functions.

Not surprisingly, when physical discomfort, boredom and a lack of confidence surfaces in either a horse or a person, correct body posture and alignment, reliable balance, agility, and strength is reduced. The techniques Leslie depends on the most were taught to herby Bill Dorrance during her apprenticeship.

You will learn how to recognize and begin repairing the cracks in a horse's foundation that is not holding up well... and to re-build and re-establish dependable responses as your own better feel becomes available to the horse.

"Feel and Release" is the language your horse was born to

understand.

Learn how to read your horse accurately, and expand youreffectiveness without increasing force on a horse. Your students will immediately recognize the refinement in your feel and better timing, and the horses you handle and ride will reflect an appreciate the release of pressure through a willingness to more accurately do what you ask.
